About M-Squared Networks

Why M-Squared Networks

Learn why we chose to help construction contractors improve operations using technology built around the way they work

Every Industry Works Differently.

Most IT companies build processes that work across many industries.

We believe that’s impossible.

Construction has unique workflows, communication challenges, jobsite realities, and project deadlines that simply don’t exist in most businesses.

Rather than trying to know a little about many industries, we’ve chosen to become experts in one.

Construction contractors.

Whether you’re a general contractor or a specialty contractor working on commercial, public works, institutional, healthcare, industrial, or government funded projects, technology should support the way your business actually operates.

Why I Started M-Squared Networks

After spending years leading IT for a Southern California advertising agency, I decided it was time to build something of my own.

When I launched M-Squared Networks, I worked with businesses across several industries, helping them solve everyday technology challenges in different environments.

As my client base grew, I realized something interesting. A large percentage of the companies I enjoyed working with were construction contractors.

The more time I spent with them, the more I noticed the same pattern. Technology wasn’t always helping their businesses operate more efficiently. The same operational challenges kept appearing from one construction contractor to the next. Project managers were working around disconnected systems. Field teams struggled to access the information they needed. Communication between the office and the jobsite often broke down.

Technology should have been supporting operations.

Along the way, I discovered something about myself. I genuinely enjoyed working with construction contractors. Construction is fast-paced, collaborative, and constantly changing. Every project presents new challenges, and I found it rewarding to help contractors use technology in ways that made their day-to-day operations run more smoothly.

As those relationships grew, so did my commitment to the construction industry. Rather than trying to support every type of business, I chose to focus on helping construction contractors and learning everything I could about how they estimate, build, manage projects, and keep work moving.

Today, that commitment shapes everything we do, from the Construction Technology Framework™ to the Construction Technology Review™.

Our goal is simple.

Help construction contractors use technology to improve operations and keep projects moving.

Michael Mendoza, founder of M-Squared Networks.

Why We Created the Construction
Technology Framework™

As we worked with more commercial contractors, one thing became clear.

The same operational challenges appeared over and over again.

Different companies. Different trades. Different sizes.
But many of the same operational challenges.

Instead of treating every issue as an isolated IT problem, we developed a better way to evaluate how technology supports construction operations.

That became the Construction Technology Framework™.

Rather than focusing only on computers, networks, or cybersecurity, the Framework evaluates how technology impacts communication, field operations, project information, operational risk, and overall productivity.

It’s the methodology behind every recommendation we make.

More Than IT Support

Technology is only valuable when it helps construction contractors improve operations and keep projects moving.

That’s why every conversation begins with understanding how your business works before recommending technology.

Whether we’re improving communication between the office and the field, protecting project information, supporting long term growth, or preparing your business for future requirements like cybersecurity and compliance, our goal remains the same.

Help construction contractors keep projects moving by using technology that supports the way they actually work.
